Spring Forward with Feet First!

Happy Friday, Fashionistas!

Moni, here! I don't know about you, but I've been doggedly determined to dress fabulously for cold weather as often as the daily forecast permits, the cuckoo weather during Mardi Gras included.  I'm a BIG fan of Fall!  I love layering!  Scarves, long knit socks, boots, tights - seriously -  I get giddy just thinking about it, and despite my bias and the hyper-temperamental weather we've had in NOLA, I sat down to write this post and thought, "once Mother Nature finally decides what season we're in, it'll be nice to wear sandals again!"

Springtime is just around the bend, and as much as I'll hate to part with my Fall and Winter wardrobe, who says I have to dress from top to toe in flat, malted egg inspired colors come Spring, and what's stopping me from experimenting with fabric textures and layering in lighter, brighter weather?

Although pastels are in-in-in for Spring 2012, it's still possible to have too much of a good thing!

Want to avoid pastel-overload?  Read on!

Fellow blogger Christyn's very helpful post about the importance of mixing and matching  as well as  Samantha's informative explanation about how monochromatic pieces can detract from instead of adding to an outfit are must-reads for those of you who are serious in your fashion-forward pursuits!

Once you've brought yourself up to speed, take a peek at some wonderful examples of how texture, soft metallics, and earth tones can make even the palest of pastels pop! The best part? They're all available at Feet First Stores right now - and yes, that includes online!

Fancy Footwork.

The black version of these darlings has a flirty, daytime feel to them too, but I was drawn to the pewter for its 'pop' factor.  A little metallic sheen never hurt anyone!

Talk about sweet, right?  Just imagine yourself in a pale sundress while rocking these!

I'm a fan of Bernardo - very stylish, with a comfort that lasts all day!
Here's another pair, just for kicks:

Metallic strikes again!
Soft colors paired with a metallic piece can add  a touch of playful sophistication to your wardrobe.

Handy Dandy.

Texturized, compact, and destined to be your go-to clutch this Spring!

A Merriam-Webster worthy example of how an earthy tone can make pastel colors vibrant!

I love this handbag!  Such a crisp look and the cork material provides a purely neutral tone that will complement anything I'd wear on a sunny day in New Orleans.

The Tote-al Package.

When in doubt, an earthy, warm tone is a guaranteed fashion success in accessories this Spring,
and who doesn't love a nice shoulder bag? In fact, here are a few more!

Brace yourselves, these TLC bags are gorgeously hand woven on the island of Bali using the Ata reed. They then smoke the bags to change the color of the straw. (They will smell so yummy when you get them!)

TLC Bermuda Hand-Woven Straw Purse

I LOVE this TLC bag, and I can see it going well with everything!

Cool as a Cucumber.

Last but not least, you can have it made in the shade this Spring with your very own

A clean, classic look that will keep your pretty peepers out of the sun's glare and make sure you look fabulous while doing it!
